About Jim Gillen
I've been an amateur photographer for more than 40 years. A native of New York City and resident of Hampden, Massachusetts, I began a career as a reporter and editor at The Daily News in Springfield, Massachusetts, in 1973 and retired in 2009 after serving as city editor of The Republican for 10 years. I have a bachelor's degree in communication arts from Fordham University and a master's degree in business from Western New England College. Cape Cod, Nantucket Sound, the Atlantic Ocean and Cape Cod Bay are among my favorite subjects. I particularly enjoy sunsets on the Cape and capturing them in a photo.
